In today’s realm, where nothing is entirely safe and ‘absolute security’ is just a myth, organizations that believe they haven’t been attacked are definitely not looking hard enough. Businesses in this technologically evolved world are constantly connected to the internet, making it handy for the criminals to take advantage. To protect themselves against attacks carried out by cyber criminals who have matured with more stealthy and sophisticated techniques over the years, organizations need to get rid of compromised physical security systems and secure all the activities carried out through the internet. Especially in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, when businesses are making their employees work from home to ensure their safety, security remains a crucial element to be taken care of. This is precisely what Trusted Internet helps its clients with. The company leverages long-time cyber intelligence expertise to provide hands-on security to businesses that would otherwise not be able to afford this level of expertise.

Trusted Internet was founded in 2018 by Jeff Stutzman to offer managed security services to organizations of all sizes. With the experience of having worked as a former Navy Intelligence Officer, a Global Risk program for CISCO, the CISO for Northrop Grumman Electronics Sector, and the DCISE Director at DoD Cyber Crime Center, Stutzman wanted to establish an company that could put together a good common sense cyber security architecture that was suitable for both small and large-sized companies.

Trusted Internet today offers the expertise of a Virtual CISO® to organizations that do not have it in place, at an affordable price.
“We provide a standardized business architecture that can be plugged into an organization, monitoring and protecting them round the clock,” says Stutzman, founder, Trusted Internet. The company provides a Monitor Detect and Respond (MDR) package that enables organizations to ensure immediate response to threats and vulnerability management of a computing environment, including patch management, remote troubleshooting, and quarantine capabilities. In the beginning, Trusted Internet assigns a senior Virtual CISO®, who holistically evaluates the current state of vulnerabilities in the client’s network through a risk assessment and provides a set of recommendations. In order to implement the architecture, the team at Trusted Internet places two clients on each computer, which is installed with next-generation Fortinet products. One of these products is the Fortinet client vantage antivirus system, which provides clients with round the clock vulnerability scanning and enables them to manage functions for security patches. The second offering is a strong anti-evasion tool that allows the system to analyze quickly and, if needed, kill any processes such as ransomware, initiated by polymorphic installations. Furthermore, as more flies can be caught with honey than with vinegar, the company installs a firewall with hands-off design on the network for intrusion prevention, white labeling, DNS filtering, and multi-factor authentication. Additionally, for the clients who are on-the-move, Trusted Internet provides burner phones to give them a VPN keeping them inside the firewall, irrespective of their physical coordinates. These common sense tools making up the MDR package provide every client with a fairly robust foundational information security program.

The company’s services prove all the more essential and critical at present when the world is facing the COVID-19 pandemic that has led to people working remotely. In such a scenario, Trusted Internet’s ability to ensure the security of offices at homes with its common sense architectural approach remains significant.

Going forward, Trusted Internet will keep manifesting its MDR package to strengthen its clients’ business architecture. Over the last year, the company has successfully set foot on the pedal to start sailing. Recently, in January 2020, it worked on its back end functionalities and sales, gaining the capability to grow seven or eight times its current position.
